What’s New & Why It Matters
We are delighted to share some significant developments that strengthen the value and recognition of your training with us:
1. Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) status for Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC‑L4)
CPCAB’s Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC‑L4) has been approved as a Higher Technical Qualification by Skills England. This means it is recognised as employer‑defined, occupationally relevant, and aligns with national standards.
2. NCPS (The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) Recognition & Underpinning
We are pleased to announce that NCPS now recognises CPCAB qualifications at Levels 2, 3, and 4. For the Level 4 Diploma, NCPS Recognised Professional Qualification status confirms that the qualification meets industry‑recognised training standards and fully meets the competency requirements of the SCoPEd framework in Column A.
3. Recognition & Credibility
With these recognitions in place, your qualification is not just something you work hard for — it is now backed by:
- Endorsements signalling professional and industry confidence
- Clear alignment with national standards
- HTQ approval, meaning your training is acknowledged for employer relevance and technical standards
What This Means for You
- Value of your learning is higher than ever — your work leads to a qualification that is professionally respected.
- Pathways to professional registration are clearer — completing the Level 4 Diploma gives you a route towards membership and registration with professional associations, including NCPS.
- Confidence in standards — you can be sure the training you receive meets rigorous requirements, including live‑taught relational hours, ethical and professional practice, safe and inclusive work with clients, and comprehensive theoretical and practical components.
